Updates from the road 10PM Saturday night. Leading the way on the relay challenge, the Crusher Company has clocked 126 miles thus far. Crusher Team: CO-OSC Ft Benning. (Officer Candidate School). Recruited 2 weeks ago to run this race while working on 8 House of Heroes Homes. Rumor from the other of relay runners: “A ringer exists on this team.” Note, this is a rumor and has not been verified.
Susan Gerkin stopped by to inspire the run with reports of a late night donation of $7,500 from Grainger pushing donations upwards of $58,000.
Team ODP: Old Dirty Paratroopers from the 507TH Airborne Ft Benning had some on course obstacles of dogs chasing them down. Currently they are chasing another relay team, Columbus Roadrunners who have female power on their relay team.
Last, Team ReSet called in to announce arrival at mile 123 only 3 miles behind the leaders. ReSet is asking for review of lead relay team blood and urine test results and as well as review of rules on running on correct side of the road. Both have been brought to light in order to suggest a “disqualification” of lead team. Jokingly, race supervisor said “he is willing to listen to all relay ‘complaints’ with an increased level of interest based on new incoming donations for complaining relay team member.”
